Theater at Monmouth’s 50th Season concludes with award-winning playwright Steve Murray’s hilarious adaptation of Frank Capra’s, It’s a Wonderful Life.
Ring in the season with family, friends, and neighbors from November 28 through December 8, 2019! Brimming with hope and humor, This Wonderful Life reminds us of the power of perspective, friendship, and family just in time for the holiday season.
TAM favorite Mike Anthony unleashes his comedic talents for this 90-minute adventure as he recreates more than two-dozen iconic characters from the beloved film. Anthony embodies Clarence the Angel, Mary, Old Man Potter, and the rest of Bedford Falls’ finest citizens, while also serving as narrator, offering amusing commentary on George Bailey’s journey to discover that the actions of one person really can make a difference in the world. This fast-paced and witty adaptation celebrates the warmth of the season and the belief that hard work, fair play, and love of one’s family and community is truly its own “wonderful” reward...

From the Director
We are thrilled to have Mike Anthony return to kick off the 50th anniversary’s holiday season as the many beloved characters of Bedford Falls! Frank Capra’s classic film of one man’s journey to face not his own mortality but what the world would have been like without him has become a holiday tradition.
For those of you who are sharing in the magic of TAM’s Holiday Show for the first time—welcome to the peculiar and unpredictable world of This Wonderful Life, in which one versatile actor plays a guy who so loves the movie, that he wants to bring us along as he reminisces about, pokes fun at, and embodies the ENTIRE cast of characters. He may be alone on the stage but he brings with him the spirit of generations of fans watching this film in celebration of the gift of living.
And when you leave us, after some cookies and warm beverages downstairs, we hope you will consider this little play TAM’s gift to you. Perhaps it will inspire you to pay it forward and share the warmth and generosity of the season with all your neighbors. What better way to share our gratitude for family and friends then through the celebration of life that is It’s a Wonderful Life. Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year!
