What’s your deal? Who are you and what’s your story?

Ahoy there!  My name is Billy Hutto and I love to act, sing, and laugh.  I grew up in lots of different places, so I’ve been a nomad pretty much my whole life.  I even lived in Sicily for two years.  Crazy, right?  I recently graduated from the Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Acting program and moved to Los Angeles this past May so that I could climb mountains in between auditions and eliminate winter from my life forever.

What most excites you about taking on this performance opportunity at TAM?

The opportunity to feast upon a glorious Gilbert and Sullivan score with a mighty troupe of actors in the middle of gorgeous Maine…what’s not to love?!

Why classic theatre (or musicals)?

Classic theater provides a great opportunity for artists to preserve the history of live storytelling while also making a case for why these stories matter today.  The creative possibilities are endless!

Who is your role model, and why?

Betty White—because she knew to how to transform heartache into radiant comedy.

You can have dinner with any three powerful women in history. Who would you choose and why?

There’s only one powerful woman in history that I’d need to meet and she was the producer of The Princess Diaries.  Her name was Whitney Houston.

What is your super power?

My super power is typing.  I type SO fast and it impresses everyone who sees me do it.
