A riddle, headless princes, a murder plot, famine, feasting, a horrible storm at sea, a shipwreck, a tournament, a marriage, a childbirth, and that’s all before intermission! A TAM first, and quite possibly the first time on stage in Maine, Shakespeare’s great adventure comes to life on the Cumston Hall stage. There is really no Shakespearean play like Pericles. It’s an adventure tale of love, danger, and mystery. Our hero, Pericles grows up, leaves his home, and seeks an identity. Through his trials, Pericles, like all of human kind, is tossed on the sea of time. He finds great love, loses all, and experiences the darkest night of the soul. And at the end? You will have to come and see for yourself! The last of our Friday openings in July, come and experience Pericles and then enjoy a lovely reception after the show with complimentary refreshments and drinks. Meet the Director, Jeri Pitcher, cast, and members of the Board!
TAM is proud to present The Canterville Ghost, our summer children's show. Written by Oscar Wilde, adapted by David Greenham and Elizabeth Helitzer, this story will delight children of all ages, from 4 to 104. When an American family moves to a historic home in Britain, they find the ghostly Sir Simon as an unexpected houseguest. Wilde's tale pokes fun at money-solves-all-problems sensibilities, but it is also the charming tale of a frustrated ghost and the young girl who believes in his goodness. Parents and guardians may rest assured that this show is especially silly and not scary! The average run (or fun) time is about 45 minutes with no intermission. Directed by Elizabeth Helitzer, The Canterville Ghost opens |
